We are glad to announce that our La Roche-sur-Yon Footbridge (Bernard Tschumi & Hugh Dutton Associates) is the winner of the Condé Nast Traveller’s Innovation and Design Awards 2011 for the INFRASTRUCTURE category.
We’ll soon share more details about the Event Award that took place on Tuesday the 10th of May in London.

Tronic Studio tapped into their architecture backgrounds for the film they created for Herzog & de Meuron’s 57-story hi-rise residential tower in Tribeca. Combining a live action helicopter shoot with extensive CG modeling, the film shows the poetic beauty of how the building was conceived, beginning with the elements of each floor descending from the Manhattan sky and landing into place on top of the Anish Kapoor sculpture.

Nous avons souvent parlé dans notre blog de culture libre, communication transparente et de technologie Open Source, et depuis quelques années nous essayons d’appliquer au maximum ces réflexions à notre travail, en partageant des contenus par le biais de notre blog, notre flickr, le compte twitter et d’autres médias.
Aujourd’hui, nous avons le plaisir d’annoncer la publication du premier projet d’architecture entièrement Creative Commons par l’agence espagnole Ecosistema Urbano: il s’agit de l’Air Tree (Arbre d’Air) dessiné pour le pavillon de la ville de Madrid à l’Expo Shanghai 2010.
Cela signifie que désormais n’importe quel architecte, agence d’architecture, mairie ou institution, pourra librement télécharger tout les dessins d’exécutions de l’Arbre d’Air et ensuite modifier le projet, le construire et, bien sur, le revendre.

Souvent nous avons eu le plaisir de publier des travaux de nos collègues sur ce blog, et aujourd’hui il s’agit des recherches et de projets de Frédéric Mallet, un jeune architecte parisien qui travaille en tant que collaborateur avec des agences telles qu’ Arep, Groupe 6 (et les Ateliers Jean Nouvel par l’intermédiaire d’Arep Ville). Ses travaux se situent dans le domaines des géométries complexes, du scripting architectural et de l’architecture paramétrique.

LA SAMARITAINE – ETUDES DE FACADE
Fred explique que “le point de départ de cette étude est un motif géométrique réalisé en pliage illustrant une fleur composée autour d’un pentagone. L’enjeu est alors de créer une composition spatiale autour de ce motif afin de réaliser une peau de verre enveloppant le bâtiment de la Samaritaine.”

We have recently published some photos of the construction progress of Jiang Tai Winter Garden and talk about the feeling to see something one has designed becoming real.
Today we share with you some drawings and photos of the construction site taken last week at Taikoo Hui Glass Box and Skylight.
Francesco Cingolani will be presenting today, Tuesday 12th October, in Madrid, some works of parametric architecture developed by HDA | Hugh Dutton Associés and Ecosistema Urbano.
The conference is based on the previous HDA’s lecture at Ecole d’Architecture de Paris La Villette, and it will include presentation of examples like Terna’s Electric Pylons ( designed by HDA | Hugh Dutton Associés) and parametric research for the Air Tree project, designed by Ecosistema Urbano for the Expo of Shangai.
