It often happens that the most significant and interesting contributions in a discipline such as architecture come through unusual routes of unlikely character. And very often the recognition of the person and appreciation of the value of its work comes late. Sometimes too late. But since the seed of a wonderful idea (rather than of a revolutionary theory) has been planted, even if it is ahead of its time, there is a sort of inevitability that will bring it to fruition.

Thanks to our friend Andrea Graziano we’ve been informed of this exciting summer course in Paris presented by Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. The Paris Atelier – Architect as Critical Maker course with the motto “Lighter than air”  will be held in Paris from June 3 until  July 15, 2013 with visiting artist Tomas Saraceno. If you are a reader of this blog, you probably know that we are very interested in the artist’s work who is famous to push the conventions of art and architecture and their capacities to invoke inventive solutions to complex questions about how we inhabit and coexist in the world.

Nous sommes très heureux d’annoncer que notre projet équilibre a été retenu pour le design de la future ligne électrique Avelin Gavrelle au Nord de la France. La nouvelle a été dévoilée lundi 22 avril par ce communiqué de presse. Le projet, porté par Hugh Dutton Associés et Gritech, avait été présenté le 29 mars à la commission Paysage qui, avec des différents acteurs du territoire, est à l’origine du choix du concept.

Le 15 mai prochain, architectes et startups se rencontrent en occasion de FUTURE ARCHITECTURE NIGHT (FAN) pour évoquer le futur de l’architecture. Nous avons suivi et participé à l’organisation de cet événement qui, pour la première fois à Paris, va rassembler les mondes de l’innovation et de l’architecture à la Cantine, un espace de coworking très influent pour l’innovation et les nouvelles technologies en France.
